AG Raider Goes Rogue To Trump Joe?

So Joe’s AG weighed Trump raid “for weeks”. So the claim Biden did not know THAT is “truly disturbing” as WSJ’s McGurn suggests in “Merrick Garland Goes Solo in Mar-a-Lago Search.” If true, consequences frightening?

As the columnist notes, “More than a week after the morning FBI raid on Donald Trump’s Florida home, the WH continues to insist Joe Biden knew nothing about it. They supposedly “read about it in the newspapers.” “Many find this hard to swallow. Not least Mr. Trump.” As No. 45 wrote on his Truth Social website, “Biden knew all about this, just like he knew all about Hunter’s ‘deals’.” STILL, “the WH insists that no one in the West Wing knew that AG Garland & the FBI would be willing to break with more than two centuries of precedent without so much as a heads up to chief of staff Ron Klain” let alone the Commander in Chief himself.

Was this, then, another case of “plausible deniability” usually tied to conspiracy theorists obsessed with UFOs? As McGurn says, it could make sense only if the “presidential ignorance here (or at least the pretense of it) serves a useful political game.” While “independent investigations” by DOJ are naturally desirable, & that means free from the kind of pressure Mr. Trump allegedly put on his AG, that doesn’t mean Joe's AG is above the law any more than anyone else. Concluded McGurn: “Do Americans really want an unelected AG making the unprecedented decision to send 30 FBI agents to the home of a former president & possible presidential candidate without at least running it by his boss, the sitting president? Given how extraordinary the move was, wouldn’t a president want to have it run past him first? Esp when it comes against the backdrop of the FBI & Justice having lost the trust of millions of Americans by their actions the past few years?”
