Air Force’s Unforced Tuskegee Hero Error
It’s important in No. 47’s quest to quickly rid gov’t of divisive DEI mania pushed by No. 46, BUT it’s also essential to protect against “malicious” tricks by progressives undercutting it. Case in point: Hegseth has to reinstate Tuskegee Airmen webpage?
Should we give Air Force officials the benefit of the doubt when they took down its website training page hailing DEI & the heroic contributions to the nation by the legendary Tuskegee Airmen webpage? The excuse in Fox News' coverage appears to be the page’s removal was always “temporary” and only to comply with the new Administration’s executive order to replace all DEI operations … even references to it … with merit-based considerations only. Yet, a “video on the Women Airforce Service Pilots was also “temporarily” removed. And, there’s no explanation as to why appropriate edits to the page couldn’t have been made in the usual manner, i.e., without taking down the entire page.
One can imagine the negative universal reaction & suspicions by the new DOD Sec. Hegseth as well as his new incoming team. They had likely been forewarned by the president himself of embedded progressives trying to sabotage needed reforms by hook, line or sinker. The Air Force’s unforced error may or may not have been one of them. But, it’s surely a warning to others that gaming the system may have worked with Biden, but it can get you fired in the Trump era.
