All Rise: Soros Jr Ascends Old Man’s Throne

Like father like son? As George Soros hands over billions funding lib causes to son Alex, key ask is whether JR, who “thinks like dad,” will have more of a conscience that at least steers the loot away from creepy DAs & anarchists?

For now, 37-yr-old Alex Soros says he’s even “more political” than his 92-yr-old father. He conceded to the WSJ he’d especially like to see more family money via their super PAC spent on voting, abortion & “free speech in our colleges.” But, unlike the old man, the younger hasn’t been weighed down with “antisemitic tropes,” has visited Israel several times & even celebrates some Jewish religious holidays. Not that the Soros clan, whoever is leading it, doesn’t have the right to spread its massive wealth for the “common good” as they insist they do. Or, that, as Alex told the Journal, “As much as I would love to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it,” [presumably Donald Trump & any right wing rads that support him or whatever], we will have to do it, too.” Fair enough, then, as far as it goes.

Yet, there’s the old dictum “two wrongs don’t make a right” that has underpinned the criticism of Team Soros in the past. The problem, critics have argued, is that George has “sounded” capable of being reasonable when interviewed, but his “actions” have too often spawned incompetent if not delusional leftist politicians & activists who insist upon advancing experimental causes (e.g., no bail, no jail laws) no matter how devastating the consequences to society are proven to be. It’s almost as if, critics suggest, the Soros folks WANT chaos in society. And for what reason? Is it a coincidence the massive Soros war chest was built by George “in the 1970s & 1980s as a pioneering hedge-fund manager who placed wagers in global stock, bond & currency markets based on his forecasts of economic & political shifts”? Can Alex be more responsible in shepherding the family’s philanthropical stash? Is seeing still believing?
