Antonio Brown’s Latest Burn Out Only Matter of Time?

Antonio Brown’s latest “melt down” in Sunday’s Bucs-Jets game made sports commentator Tony Dungy beg NFL teams on NBC: “Don’t sign him until he gets some help.” You think? Bucs’ coach says Brown is no longer part of team but why did he sign him in 1st place? Would you give an alcoholic a shot of whiskey to get him through to the next bender?

Explained Dungy, a Super Bowl coach: “I’ve said this in the past. I feel sorry for Antonio Brown. He’s talented … [But, the NFL is] not doing him any favors if [it] keeps signing him & rewarding this behavior.” The latest “behavior” happened in the third quarter when Brown seemed to be in a heated discussion with teammates Mike Evans & O.J. Howard and suddenly began stripping off his gear, tossing some items into the stands and dashed half naked across an end zone while flashing the peace sign to fans. But, let’s recall Tampa Bay signed Brown during the 2020 Super Bowl season after the league suspended him for 8 games for outrageous conduct; note, too, he was put on ice for 3 games earlier this season for faking a Covid vax card. ESPN published a ridiculously loooong list of bizarre behavior by Brown over the last 3 years as a member of the Steelers, Raiders & Patriots. Sports Illustrated says Brown’s been accused of sexual misconduct twice during this period & pleaded “no contest” to felony burglary without being given jail time.

After the game QB Tom Brady who was helped by Brown in winning last year’s Super Bowl said “we all love him. We care about him deeply. Unfortunately it won’t be with our team.” Tom, as Coach Dungy suggested, if you really loved the guy maybe you & the other Bucs wouldn’t have put winning over this sick man’s mental health? UPDATE: As of 7 am this morning Mr. Brown is still on the Bucs' roster as Fox News reports the coach, GM, owner & NFL are teaming up to decide what to do ... maybe, show him some love and get him some help?
