Are US Leaders As Mental As Uvalde Shooter?

Warriors’ Damion Lee may be right to say after Texas school shootings “it’s easier to get a gun than baby formula,” but it’s also easier to get opioids & unhelpful divisive rhetoric from our pols like Obama’s tweet & Joe’s twitter.

As WSJ’s editors noted in “Young Men, Guns & Guardrails,” stopping mass shooters “like the one in Uvalde will be harder than passing a law.” Too many guns, some say? Not enough cops, say others? Meanwhile, what to do about the too seldom mentioned mental illness in our schools that has reached crisis proportion? Fox’s Judge Jeanine maybe hit on something when she suggested divining “mental illness” & “insanity” are two worlds apart & these mass murderers, like the one in Uvalde, may have been mentally ill, but acted out their worst nightmares as if the devil in a very measured, systematic, premeditated way. If so, exactly who is going to put which “suspects” in jail before they do you know what?

As the WSJ also noted: “The reason there are more [feckless] demands [like Obama’s & Biden’s] is because the problem of how to stop mass shootings by disturbed young men is one of the hardest in a democratic society.” Yet, might that democratic society itself be suffering from a sort of collective mental illness in that it & its leaders have aborted respect for one another as well as life itself?
