At Least Paul Pelosi Didn’t Club Self
NBC’s retracted “30 Minutes” story on Pelosi home invasion might not be same level as CBS’s “60 minutes” hypocrisy in the Stahl-Trump bushwhacking, but the network’s silence & refusal to explain itself since may be.
As Fox News noted recently: “NBC News national correspondent Miguel Almaguer hasn’t appeared on the network in 11 days since his explosive report on the Paul Pelosi attack was retracted, but he and NBC News have remained silent since the scrubbing of his report suggesting the House Speaker’s husband may not have been in danger when police arrived” and/or that he knew his attacker who ostensibly used a hammer to give him a fractured skull. According to Fox, at least some NBC insiders believe the report based on supposedly trusted sources was squashed because it went against the mainstream narrative. A former but unnamed senior NBC News executive who worked with Almaguer said the network needs to explain what’s going on. “NBC News must be more transparent with its viewers about this error.” Good luck with that one? He continued: Who wrote Miguel’s script? Who approved it?” My Q: Is veteran Miguel capable of reading and understanding the script that aired?
Not that many of the surrounding facts based on reliable sources seemingly backing up Almaguer’s original report have been debunked. For instance, no one is denying Mr. Pelosi opened the door for police but didn’t attempt to escape or cry for help; nor was he bludgeoned as he walked away from police TOWARD the intruder. Still, Almaguer’s report was scrubbed from all NBC platforms, presumably because it failed to meet some unarticulated “reporting standards.”
