AZ AG Declares Coyote “Invasion” Ala Poncho Villa

If libs can come up with novel legal theories to justify their policies so can AZ’s AG Brnovich whose legal opinion declares border crisis an “invasion” under the Constitution. Far-fetched or about time someone said it?

Mr. Brnovich’s opinion, Fox notes, could “give the state(s) power to take additional measures to defend itself. It maintains the US Constitution merely mentions “invasion” and can include “hostile non-state actors.” Further argued Brnovich: “The violence and lawlessness at the border caused by transnational cartels and gangs satisfies the definition of an ‘invasion’ under the U.S. Constitution and Arizona” therefore has the power to take any and all necessary steps to defend “its own territory at or near its border.”

State Republicans & former Trump officials had been urging the state’s Gov. Doug Ducey to use such “war powers” to repel the enormous number of migrants that have hit Arizona’s border with Mexico in the last year. It would in theory allow Arizona’s police or National Guard to remove illegal immigrants to Mexico themselves.” Not so sure about Fox’s focusing on “illegal immigrants” invading the state to pass Constitutional muster, however, & Mr. Brnovich may have been wise to focus his opinion on taking action against “transnational cartels and gangs” doing the invading ala Poncho Villa.
