Baby, You Can Drive My Stick
It’s no secret progressives seem to think only THEY have answers to the world’s problems. Take their EV mandate mania. Please. I’m waiting for the libs’ answer to rampant car thievery. Can they say “Stick shift”?
The WSJ can. And, I’d suggest it’s THE answer to the hijackings, one even a victimized progressive Supreme Court Justice can now appreciate. Consider its recent article titled, “Baby, Can You Drive My Car? Not If It’s a Stick Shift.” The gist of it all: “Manual transmissions are increasingly rare in America, [yet when they do get targeted they are] foiling teenage carjackers.” It appears the punks may be able to pull a car owner onto the street, but few have any clue how to drive away if it’s a stick shift.
So, mandating stick shifts as an anti-crime policy makes total sense, no? And, it would come “with benefits.” I can say I LOVE my Mazda Miata’s stick transmission. YOU control the driving experience & there’s no guilt, just glee, as you zoom-zoom through traffic if, when & how you want. But, no, no progressive will go to bat for the stick conversion idea. Because it’s not theirs.
