Bad Harvests & Serious Food Shortages Loom?

If you think the human rush to our southern border is a crisis now, wait till you read WSJ’s “Rising Food Prices Roil Developing World” & Fox’s Tucker reminding food shortages are how people panic & “Revolutions start.”

Make no mistake, Tucker suggests, food shortages & runaway inflation can now happen in America as well as in the Third World. Just look at the infant formula fiasco now unfolding here & earlier shortages of many basic food stuffs, like Post Grape Nuts that was missing from my grocery store shelves for nearly 6 months last year. But, that’s peanuts, if you listen to the WSJ warning: “War in Ukraine is exacerbating pandemic supply-chain woes & worse-than-expected harvests around the world…Soaring food prices are triggering shortages & protests across the developing world as disruption from the Ukraine war adds to existing strains on global supplies of grains, meat & other foodstuffs. Throw in the war’s looming threat to the globe’s fertilizer supplies & which are needed to help the NEXT crop be more successful ...

What about skyrocketing fuel prices & its impact on farmers? The 15-cent jump in already record high gas prices here in Falls Church on Saturday was no mirage … then, India invoked a “rare ban on wheat exports” to protect the world’s second largest wheat grower’s own supplies. You get the picture, altho Joe Biden doesn’t appear to as he insists his inflationary policies are somehow preventing inflation & making food magically appear on the empty shelves. Go figure. But, Tucker & WSJ are right about one thing. This is getting serious.
