Biden Bump Turns Into Trump Hump?
Media polls hawking future election results are fickle snap shots of voter sentiment at given point in time, but latest showing Trump would edge Biden out if rematch held today is remarkable since it’s by New York Times…
Correction. The poll of “likely voters” was not only conducted by the liberal rag but with the help of its progressive allies at Siena College. And, let’s forget that the poll showed Biden’s approval rating dipping below 40% for the first time since August when his ratings were actually trending up a bit. (Some say that modest Biden Bump was apparently thanks to Democrats trying hard to overlook his putrid record and deny any thought of losing control of Congress in the upcoming November mid-term elections.) Perhaps the biggest concern for the WH is that the NYTimes is notorious for UNDERCOUNTING Republicans and OVERCOUNTING Democrats, at least, so say Republican pollsters and pundits. So, that “4% margin of error” usually assigned to this or any poll might hold an even worse outlook for Camp Biden.
The Times-Siena poll is also compelling because it seems to be supporting the idea that American voters are finally waking up to the reality of everything they’ve witnessed since a small majority of them dumped a Trump for a Schlump. That is, 64% or a landslide proportion majority, now think the country is “on the wrong track.” You think?
