Biden’s Royal Plea Chop’s Reason?

Does Joe blow more smoke by begging immunity for Saudi crown prince’s alleged killing of US editor? Besides flipping on “consequences” promise, does he grasp American Revolution’s end to privileged royalty?

As Fox News noted, “during his presidential campaign, Biden promised Saudi rulers would face consequences in [a US-based opposition journalist’s] brutal death” in 2018. Yet, the Biden administration went into court Thursday night and told the presiding judge the crown prince should be granted immunity from lawsuits for his alleged role in the slaying of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi. According to the AP, the State Dept. explained the controversial decision to protect rather than sanction the Saudi royal from US courts “purely a legal determination” based on “longstanding precedent.”

Maybe. The idea behind the immunity plea is ostensibly to protect US nationals from being hauled into foreign court to face lawsuits there. Problem: What good does that “precedent” do Americans like Khashoggi when they get decapitated while working or living overseas?
