Bullet Exiting Victim Kills Shooter?

Legend has it Chicago’s columnist Mike Royko gave annual award for “Gun Owner of the Year” to ridicule his armed muggers but he wouldn’t have believed Texas man killing self with own bullet that passed thru his victim.

Oh, I still remember Mike’s early awards during the 1990s and especially the Arizona shot gun owner who got killed by a giant cactus that fell on him whilst using it as target practice; or, the bed ridden man who woke up in the middle of one night and shot off his big toe with a hand gun thinking an intruder was about to leap on him.

Yet, Fox News tells us “a Texas man accidentally killed himself after a bullet he fired from a gun exited a woman’s neck and struck him in the leg.” Dallas police are investigating the bizarre incident so there’s no further details, other than officers had responded to a mid-morning shooting at an apartment complex, saw a large amount of blood in one apartment, but no one was inside; then, they followed a trail of more blood to find a wounded man and woman in a parked car. Somehow, the shooter had “shot the woman in the neck and the [exiting] bullet struck him in his leg … He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.” If Mike were alive, wouldn’t this be another nominee for his award?
