Can GOP’s Alt-Budget Table Dems’ Fried Pork Roast?

So, the House GOP says it can “eliminate” Biden’s $4 trillion 2022 budget deficit in 5 years while cutting taxes by $2T.

According to Fox News, the Republican Study Committee would slash billions from the Dems’ “pork gone wild” and “reform federal programs like Medicaid & the Children’s Health Insurance Program”. How? Via tried and tested vehicles like “block grants and zero-baseline budgeting.” In addition, they throw back on the negotiating table “reduced regulations, increases in the retirement age for Social Security & Medicare.”

The problem is that those “tried and tested” vehicles didn’t always work well for either Party in the past and/or were rejected by large swaths of voters. And, the Dems who now control the White House & Peanut-eating House will see no reason to stop cooking their bacon to serve the benefited voters until we’re all burnt. The latest inflation & employment figures are setting off fire alarms, after all. “The Democrats are introducing socialism & radically expanding the role of government”, says RSC chair Rep Jim Banks, so our economy is already overcooked. What else is new? Maybe the question is how charcoaled the Dems’ roast has to get before mid-term elections determine who controls the House stove?
