Cancel Culture Reaches Supreme Absurdity?

GW Prof Turley calls “absurd” those radicals trying to cancel out Justice Coney Barret’s upcoming book because of her Catholic abortion views, but didn’t use the “F” aka FEAR word behind their own extreme views …

The legal scholar’s opinion piece recently appearing on Fox News begins by noting “in the last ten years, censorship has become the rage from the halls of Congress to college campuses.” But, it concludes in head-scratching fashion “it is hard to believe writers & editors are championing censorship just because they don’t agree with Barrett’s stance on abortion.”

Believe it, professor. Extreme views on either the left or right can never be explained by rational thought. Notice how the last decade’s irrepressible turn toward censorship in our democracy is so often somehow justified with irrational fearmongering and/or accusing others of the evil they themselves embody. For instance, what did an apparently fearful President Biden just tell the nation about “the GOP turning the country back to chaos” if it votes for one of its members on November 8 … just because they promise to “end the chaos” he allegedly helped create in the inflationary economy, crime riddled streets & more Covid deaths under his watch than you know who?
