Chess Prodigy Masters Art Of The Cheat?
Cheating has been suspected of spit-balling MLB pitchers & pig skin deflating NFL QBs so it’s curious of the stink made in ESPN story about chess master scandal turning into “a fight for soul of the game …” Just beat the cheat?
19-yr-old prodigy Hans Niemann was unapologetic after winning a first-round match at the US Chess Championship just a day after a report by Chess.com accusing him of having cheated more than 100 times on its platform. In Niemann’s own trash-talking words: “Chess speaks for itself, y’all.” No. 1 ranked Magnus Carlsen was naturally shocked at having his 53-game winning streak ended by Niemann & it took him about 24-hours to suggest it was somehow done by more crook than hook. Since then, Niemann has been besieged by accusations of cheating & subjected to electronic surveillance during tournaments that would make a KGB spook squirm. Exactly how Niemann is allegedly cheating, has yet to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Niemann has since conceded he has in youthful foolishness “cheated” in a couple of online games without monetary stakes. Still, the highest chess authorities insist there’s no way this relatively unknown could have gained on veteran masters of the game so quickly; rather analysis of his match play suggests “sudden” leaps & bounds even Superman couldn’t have pulled off without the aid of an “unbeatable computer”.
Suggestion: Chess is mindbogglingly hard enough to play without worrying about the opponent being guided by invisible Krypton waves reaching his ear. Legendary Chess Master Bobby Fischer was a master at freaking out his opponents with one bizarre behavior after another. Maybe let your chess play speak for itself, y’all?
