Chicago Dispatcher Sees Red In Bloodshed

After over 50 people were shot over holiday weekend in Chicago, the 911 dispatcher who said this “nonsense has to stop” concedes it WON’T until do nothing leaders undo their progressive policies helping to feed the bloodshed.

The Chicago Sun-Times put the toll at 52 shot with 10 killed within hours of one another. Keith Thornton Jr. had this to say about it when interviewed by Fox & Friends: “We need someone who’s going to take the position and say, you guys [primarily gangs & drug sellers] need to cut this out, and if you don’t do it, this is the accountability and this is what we’re going to do to you.” To put it another way: “Nothing is going to change” unless the city’s leaders get tough on crime & jettison their soft on crime mantra. He’s right, of course. But, don’t count on any change as a “new generation” of violent youths he mentioned grow increasingly bold in flaunting authority.

Local media reports Mayor Lori Lightfoot basically deflects questions about the record shootings, e.g., most recently by saying the city’s crime rate has always been high so what’s the big deal when a woman’s right to “abortion” is being assaulted in the Supreme Court. Go figure. Mr. Thornton says meanwhile, the chief prosecutor, Kim Foxx, continues to wave those arrested by police back on the streets with easy or no bail or even reduced or no charges filed. Change “is not taking place here,” the dispatcher noted. No, it’s not.
