Chinese Balloon Shoots Hole In US Defense

Aside from that ozone hole above South Pole, maybe the unnoticed, then, unchallenged Chinese spy balloon suggests there’s a hole in our air defenses, despite an $850 billion defense budget? No one told Joe? Whoa!

As the WSJ editors observed the obvious: “The US Navy is fishing fragments of a Chinese spy balloon out of the Atlantic Ocean, and each fresh detail about this episode raises new and troubling questions. A striking example is the news from the Biden Administration that previous Chinese balloon incursions into the US appear to have gone undetected. This suggests there’s a major hole in US defenses that needs closing.”

As usual & as that balloon sailed unmolested across the continental USA, Team Biden had disingenuously leaked the idea of earlier PRC balloons flying over the US under Trump in a bald-faced attempt to make it look like you know who was just as clueless as you know who. But, when pressed, the leakers admitted no one told any civilian official on Team Trump about what the PRC was up to. Concluded the WSJ: “The Administration’s attempt to muddy responsibility is bad enough, but the revelation that at least three past balloon flights evaded US notice is alarming … [the] after-the-fact discovery isn’t reassuring, since in a war there would be no chance for do-overs. [BTW]: The balloon was hardly a birthday party fly-away, up to 200 feet tall … and potentially with explosives to self-detonate if China so chose.” AND HOW LONG DID IT HOVER OVER OUR MILITARY INSTALATIONS before being shot down?
