Comrade Sanders Urges Russia Euro Sphere of Influence

Comrade Sen Sanders says US should put itself in Russia’s shoes since it “might have legitimate concerns” over a Ukraine NATO alliance. Moscow Honeymooner reminded “there would be an uproar” if Mexico formed a military alliance with Russia.” So, bully for the bully?

This “spheres of influence” argument, of course, plays into the hands of communists & dictators & overlooks the historical fact that bullying China & Russia don’t respect OTHER PEOPLES’ borders let alone spheres of influence. As Democratic colleague Dick Durbin countered, “I don’t understand this theory of yours that somehow Vladimir Putin is entitled to a sphere of influence or control … That, to me, is unacceptable and inconsistent with the notion of Ukrainian sovereignty.”

Continued the Illinois Senator: “There is a way that he can find a more peaceful situation in the world … and it’s if he’ll stop being a thug & stop sending his troops to borders of countries … I’m afraid that simply sending a harsh letter [to Putin] is not enough anymore.”
