Cons & Libs Need God’s Wisdom, Use Common Sense

A conservative pundit recently griped, “what’s left to be conservative for”? How about “common sense”?

True, many progressive ideas are foolish. Just look at President Biden’s handlers telling him how to “control” the climate, “control” Covid-19 and “control” his fellow “institutional racists.” Yet, common sense can, or should, tell conservatives to keep up the good fight so long as their own ideas are good, too. Like belief in God, faith in the Better Angels in Our Nature and American Exceptionalism.

I learned this and other lessons while recently playing Gin Rummy. In complaining to God about a particularly lousy losing streak, He replied: “You’ll always do your best when you wisely use the cards you are dealt…”
