Covid Deaths In 3d World MUTED By Hybrid Immunity

Hybrid immunity MUTED Omicron deaths in developing nations hardest hit by Delta & without the widespread help of Western therapies, vaccines or lockdowns because they had acquired high levels of protection through infection. Where did we hear that one before?

Said the WSJ article: “When the highly infectious Omicron variant reached Asia a few months ago, India & Indonesia had a major gap in their defenses: Two-thirds of their populations were yet to be fully vaccinated. But the countries are emerging from their most recent Covid-19 waves with a fraction of the deaths they recorded during the onslaught of the earlier Delta variant. Their deaths per capita are even lower than more vaccinated places that have better healthcare systems such as South Korea, Japan & Hong Kong.” Epidemiologists now say the “good” news is largely because the less protected if not less obsessed populaces ironically acquired a higher level of natural immunity (don’t say the word “herd”).

Of course, any immunity wanes over time, in nature or at the end of a needle. But the third world is at least getting some breathing room for its governments to “expand coverage of vaccines and boosters before the virus mutates again.” Maybe the rest of the world could also benefit from learning the lesson as well before re-instituting the draconian measures once thought would be able to “eradicate” the constantly (& likely ineradicable) mutating virus.
