Covid Lockdowns Led To More Lethal Cancers

Just as Fox reports Wash St conservatives ousted from school board after defying mask mandate, WSJ tells us Covid lockdowns led to “late diagnosis & delayed care” of cancers that led to “more lethal stage 4” of the disease.

Thank you, our all wise political & medical leaders who pushed to mandate the lockdown mentality that swept the nation during the latest pandemic. Not. As the WSJ editors noted, a new study conducted by the American Cancer Society in the Lancet “finds that patients were more likely to be diagnosed with advanced cancer in 2020 following delays & disruptions in non-Covid healthcare … Early in the pandemic, routine healthcare was disrupted as hospitals prepared for a surge of Covid patients that didn’t materialize in most places. States also suspended ‘elective’ care, including cancer screenings.”

The foolishness translated into some hard numbers to swallow. Says the researchers, “patients were 5.4% less likely to be diagnosed with a stage 1 cancer & 7.4% more likely to be diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer in 2020 than in 2019. The biggest relative increase for state 4 disease occurred for liver (13%), stomach (13%), prostate (14%) & thyroid (19%) cancers.” The alarming thing about all this is that the “leaders” were amply warned this cancer risk was going to spike if draconian lockdown measures were instituted & many of them STILL insist they’d repeat the effort in a heartbeat. Tell that to the cancer victims? What would THEY say?
