Nor does the latest figure of 101 officers being shot in the line of duty as of April 1 just expose the growing effects of anti-police & defund radicals, but mind you it’s a 63% increase over 2020. And, those figures by the National Fraternal Order of Police includes 17 fatalities so far this year. Meanwhile, despite the BLM & other radical anti-police rhetoric, study after study has shown dramatic if not record-breaking increases in inner city violence as police staff & presence declines.

“We are in the midst of a real crisis,” says FOP pres Patrick Yoes. “Last year was one of the most dangerous years for law enforcement, with more officers shot in the line of duty since the FOP began recording this data.” Perhaps one of the biggest ironies? As one poll suggests, an overwhelming majority of inner city Black folks want “as many or more cops” on their streets, not less. As WSJ’s Black columnist Jason Riley also recently noted, he’s “of course” for getting rid of the few bad cops in our midst, but a vast majority of Black folks know better than anyone how important the vast majority of good officers on our city streets are in keeping them a little safer than without.
