Cuban Cracks AI Nightmare In A Nutshell

Mark Cuban made a stark prediction: Tech Sector’s next big battle will be over our souls as AI tools like ChatGPT “start taking on a life of their own.” He warns, key Q will be who CONTROLS all the control buttons. No s***, Sherlock?

As Fox Business noted when they checked into Jon Stewart’s podcast interview with the Mav’s owner & self-made tech billionaire, forget the “Twitter Wars.” He’s “telling people to be careful [and more concerned] when using artificial intelligence or AI tools like ChatGPT & DaVinci, cautioning that there are very few guardrails in place to help determine fact from fiction … Once these things start taking on a life of their own … so that the machine itself will have an influence … it’ll be difficult for us to define why & how the machine makes the deicions that it makes and who controls the machine.”

The bottom line is that these new AI programs not only will be able to produce content from text to images but “also respond to queries with human-like precision, which has some entrepreneurs [like Cuban] and education leaders concerned over the possible spread of misinformation and infringement on intellectual property.” Is this the time for CONGRESS to finally get ahead of an obvious looming hi-tech problem? Or, do we have to wait yet again for all hell to break loose before our squirrely pols put down their peanut bags and crack the nut before it cracks us?
