DC Screams As WaPo Warns Avenging Cicadas Cometh

Do radical progressives want you to be afraid? Some at the Washington Post seem to. If the Swamp elite’s fog horn isn’t publishing a fearful story about the Covid pandemic … e.g., historical toilette paper shortages or more recently a horror story involving 6 out of 6 million J&J vaccine recipients maybe getting a blood clot because of it (or not) … it produces a fearful tale “Cicadas are coming & they’re changing dramatically.”

WaPo’s author warns that some experts maybe think the hibernating pests who emerge from the ground every 17 years (ala the pods in Invasion of the Body Snatchers?) may be doing so EARLIER THAN USUAL because of irresponsible humans who are causing the global climate to change. The story had me terrified until it mentioned the same thing happened in Chicago in 1969, when swarms of the flying insects suddenly, inexplicably buzzed the city’s residents. I still remember walking along Cicero Ave. on the South Side swatting them away. BTW. Not a single Chicagoan died. Although the episode reminded folks of The Beginning of the End, a popular 1950’s flick, warning us humans irresponsibly developing nuclear power at a Chicago area lab that gigantic mutant grasshoppers might (again) one day escape to eat up a suburb’s entire population!

The WaPo story relates a similar horror story in 2017 when a bunch of Cicadas accosted a couple who were “walking around the leafy suburbs west of DC. The noise of the cicadas was deafening [&]…there “weren’t enough birds to eat them all.” What to do? A local radio station had viewers suggesting we all buy “Cicada Meshing” to put over one’s head like Abbott & Costello in African Screams. My suggestion: Catch the giant fly-like cuties, roast & dip them in chocolate & eat them. They’re probably as good as crispy grasshoppers & you’d be efficiently managing the environment.
