Decarceration DA’s Getting Nuts Roasted?

As crime soars, more Democrat voters are joining Republicans in booting or keeping “decarceration” prosecutors out of office: “What good is it to refund police if caught criminals just put back on the street?

In her “The 2022 Referendum on Crime,” WSJ columnist Kimberley Strassel poses that “District attorney primaries show that voters are fed up with left-wing prosecutors.” As just one of many examples, Strassel cites how Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg made national news when he “outrageously slapped murder charges on the 61-yr-old bodega worker who stabbed a career criminal in an act of self-defense.” She concluded: “Progressive prosecutors everywhere should be worried.”

They probably aren’t, though, since Strassel goes on to list ad nauseum other Soros-funded prosecutors who don’t seem to like keeping bad actors locked up let alone prosecuting them for a variety of progressive reasons, apparently without considering the devastating impact it’s having on VICTIMS as well as the larger society. But, again, they should, insisted Strassel because: “While most of the press focuses on the midterm referendum on Joe Biden, across the country this election season is also shaping up as a check on the ‘reform’ prosecutors responsible for surging crime. Voters will take part in more than 2,000 elections for prosecutor … and the campaigns are proving unusually hot.”
