Dems Demolish Democracy via Court “Reform”?
It's important not to forget “King” Biden just snubbed the Courts AGAIN on Student Loan Forgiveness, thereby making a mockery of “democracy” as well as the Constitution. Then, again, Harris has vowed to “reform” the Supreme Court to serve her as Queen.
The WSJ’s editorial board was livid in recently opining: “Judges keep ruling that his plans are illegal, but the President keeps acting like he’s king.” The editorial board wanted to leave little doubt as to their disgust when they quoted Biden as bragging, “That didn’t stop me.” He was, of course, referring to his latest “kiss my tush” message after the Supreme Court blocked his $430 billion student loan write-off in 2023. Added the editors, “After striking out in court with three debt forgiveness schemes, the Administration on Friday unveiled another. Take that judges.”
And yet, we are promised this anti-democracy braggadocio will extend into a Harris Administration once she’s elected president on Nov. 5. That is, by way of just one example the paper also criticized in a separate op ed, “Harris endorses [in a CNN interview] a wholesale restructuring of the judiciary and breaking the Senate filibuster rule to pass it.” The editors didn’t mince words in calling this latest progressive gambit “court packing.” It used to be a “fringe” position to take, the editors remind, but “Democrats are serious. They say Mr. Trump is a threat to democracy and US institutions, while they’re pledging to restructure the judiciary wholesale.” Put another way, they want to take a “wrecking ball” to the very institutions they supposedly want to save from Trump. Do Dems “notice the cognitive dissonance? Apparently not. But voters might.
