Denver Cops Schooled via Broke Woke Trope
NY Times notes how Denver’s schools are the latest to bring back armed officers thanks to terrorized parents, yet no brainer decision wasn’t unanimous & Times reiterated critics’ trope “move will disproportionately hurt students of color.”
What’s that other trope told by Captain Salazar to Henry Turner, something about “dead students of color tell no tales”? Forgive the literary license here butchering the famous line, but it’s COMMON SENSE that armed police, properly trained, are essential in today’s dangerous school environment. The numerous sad MSM reports about school shootings & other riotous acts themselves are the best & perhaps only argument that counts now. Recall 2020 after the killing of George Floyd when police were sent packing from the classrooms all over the nation on the alleged ground they were discriminating against black students, too. Yet, it didn’t take long for that knee-jerk reaction to tragedy make many folks second guess it. Denver school officials, e.g., reported numerous instances of students bringing their own guns into the classroom & then a 14-year-old caught in the middle of a spat between a group of teens was shot & asked, “Why?”
As a related WSJ article noted about Denver’s reinstated police presence policy, one parent told the split school board, “My kid can’t sleep. I’m going through nightmares at my house right now.” Like Denver, dozens of districts nationwide reversing their “no cops” policies have also learned “terror is color blind”. Or, isn’t that another trope or talking point usually used by the progressive left, that is, until it runs counter to their narrative about police?
