Does Joe Grin(er) Whelan Second Time?

Griner exchanged for arms dealer now? Still “deeply concerned,” Joe, for falsely jailed ex-Marine Paul Whelan? Wasn’t he also left behind in Reed-4-Yaroshenko swap? Priorities now stink to high heaven?

Not that the release of WNBA’s famous pot head, Brittney Griner, from a Russian prison on fabricated charges of drug dealing isn’t cause for celebration. But, Whelan is also still serving a 16-year prison sentence based on similarly trumped up allegations, in his case, of espionage. And, he as well as his distraught family, are again undoubtedly “devastated,” as they said they were after last year’s prisoner swap involving another ex-Marine for a Russian pilot convicted in the US of drug smuggling, but in the backdrop of the politically unpopular Ukraine invasion by Russia. In the wake of that deal the Biden Administration kept insisting Whelan’s release would continue to be a highest priority & the State Dept. was doing everything possible to free him.

Maybe try harder and/or smarter? The mid-term elections are over. And, anyway, the Ukraine War still drags on without as much MSM coverage as it once inspired. Maybe don’t seem to worry so much about which “constituency” supporting the falsely imprisoned American du jour can deliver the most votes in the 2024 presidential race?
