DOJ “Cracks” Whip Over Texas’ Redistricting Plan

Biden’s DOJ sued red Texas for gerrymandering its voting districts to build power but blue states do same thing. Pelosi’s district looks like a profile of the cartoon great dane Marmaduke. And, SHE would never rig boundaries to illegally hurt minority voting unless it’s the wrong kind, right?

Of course, there’s the rub. Again. As usual, as soon as the Democrats gain control of the WH and/or Congress, Justice sees racism abounding, especially in GOP-infested Texas: “Our complaint today alleges that the redistricting plans approved by the Texas state legislature … will deny Black & Latino voters an equal opportunity to participate in the voting process & to elect representatives of their choice” aka Democrats, said Associate AG Vanita Gupta. Got it. Heard it before. I grew up & went to college in blue Illinois, which is the King of gerrymandering to get Democrats of all races elected and/or stay elected … dead or alive … but, you think Joe’s DOJ is going to sue the Land of Lincoln?

The crime this time, Gupta says, is that Texas is “cracking” existing districts into multiple ones to gain political advantage & hurt minorities to boot … yet, as Fox News points out, that’s an old dog trick used by many states, including Illinois … and Maryland. Baltimore, for instance, now looks like a three-layered cake cooked up by a crazed Gordon Ramsay. “Maryland has had the unfortunate distinction of having the worst gerrymandered maps in America … and now the legislature is racing to pass a congressional map that makes this even worse,” said Md Gov. Larry Hogan, who predicts DOJ will sue his sorry hind end “immediately.” Being Republican doesn’t help the Las Vegas odds, does it, Larry?
