End of Patriarchal Society Home to Roost?

Congrats to woke sexists. “America’s Young Men Are Falling Even Further Behind” as they are “much more likely than female peers to live with parents, feel aimless & isolated.” NOT the Great Society liberals promised?

As the WSJ noted, “in Spanish, parents call it ‘encamindado,’ i.e., making sure your children are on the path to an independent adulthood.” But, in today’s woke American society, that’s not happening as much as it should be, the paper reports, as “The life trajectories of America’s sons & daughters are diverging.” A good thing is that “presented with a more-equal playing field, young women are seizing the opportunities in front of them…” A bad thing is that the young men of the same age are “floundering.” Big time. Apparently, “the phenomenon has developed over the past decade, but was supercharged by the pandemic, which derailed careers, schooling & isolated friends & families. The result has big implications for the economy.” And, of course, for the society’s balance if not health.

While the WSJ coverage doesn’t specifically say it, government policies to equalize opportunity across gender lines was a noble effort, but lost in the cause was the all too obvious impact branding males as personally responsible for other peoples’ discrimination and, therefore, worthy of a lower self-esteem. Didn’t over the top and move out of the way DEI programs arguably drive the nail in male ego & expectations down further, until hiding in mom & dad’s safe nest seemed the expected way out? Just wondering.
