Environmentalists Nuke Biden’s 50% Electric Car Plan

Is Detroit & DC Swamp following the science rather than the money when they jointly announced 50% of all cars will be “electric” by 2030? Yet, do they think we’re stupid? Didn’t Detroit’s latest ads promise “all new & improved” this or that model cars that will replace the “all new” old model they advertised just last year?”

“Planned obsolescence” was a relatively new term when I was a college student back in the ‘60s yet you never hear of it much today. Why? Because corporate America, including the Detroit Good ‘Ol Boys & their allies in Washington’s elite, want you to disregard their canards & keep plunking down your hard earned money on their “latest & greatest”. Put another way, Detroit execs have been sold a bill of goods of their own by the current head of the DC Swamp by pointing out how much moola they stand to gain by Americans buying … drum roll … more EXPENSIVE electric cars.

Now, it’s not that switching over to electric or other alternative fuel delivery system ain’t a good idea as long as it’s reasonably & logically planned & executed. As the WSJ’s coverage of the joint announcement noted, Biden’s 50% goal was “voluntary” aka not “mandated” by law … yet. Hello, Biden’s planned obsolescence is apparently predestined to take too long. The “voluntary” nature of the Biden gambit already has environmentalists complaining it “relies on unenforceable voluntary commitments from unreliable car makers.” Yet, doesn’t that sound like criticism of the progressives’ much ballyhooed “Paris Accord” and “Iranian Nuke Deal”?
