Eyebrow Dogs Have Us Wrapped Round Their Paws
It’s hard to disagree with the WSJ’s recent “What Makes Your Pup So Cute? It’s All in the Eyebrows.” Apparently, “the evolution of moveable eyebrows gave dogs those irresistible eyes.”
Well, I’m not so sure about the green eyes of a rabid canine chasing the postman. But, yeah, “research has shown that over thousands of years of domestication, dogs developed moveable brows and other facial features that are attractive to people.” And, THAT is how Fido became “man’s best friend.”
In honor of the recent National Dog Day, I’d certainly add my two cents to this scientific conclusion. My Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Lincoln, is a dog walker stopper; can’t tell you how many people have volunteered how “adorable” Lincoln is as we walk past them together. And, it’s no wonder, then, why Lincoln has me wrapped around his paw ... and responds best to "Mr. President."
