Fauci Deflects School Closing Fallout
Biden’s Chief Clear as Mud Medical advisor, Dr Fauci, now admits school closures led to “deleterious collateral consequences,” but insists he had “nothing to do” with it, despite scaring bejesus out of teachers’ unions?
The expert in double talk & arguably doubly worthless advice, was in his finest form when interviewing with ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl and asked a real toughie: “Was it a mistake for schools to be closed down as long as they were,” in obvious reference to tanking national elementary grade & ACT test scores in the wake of the Covid pandemic.
Said the sage head of the National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Diseases: “I don’t want to use the word ‘mistake’, Jon, because if I do, it gets taken out of the context that you’re asking me the question on.” Ok, as always, there’s more: “We should realize, and have realized, that there will be deleterious collateral consequences when you do something like that.” Ok, as always, there’s more: Fauci assured he’s always said health officials must do “everything we can to keep the schools open … No one plays that clip. They always say ‘Fauci was responsible for closing the schools.’ I had nothing to do with it. I mean, let’s get down to the facts.” Ok, as always there ARE some facts to consider. As Fox News noted, while Fauci “routinely emphasized the need for schools to stay open” he just as routinely hedged that “it may be necessary for health officials to close down schools in areas with high infections,” and he routinely waffled on what that threshold level was. Clear as Mud, no?
