Feds Trade Stock In Their Targets?

Other than Congress types like Pelosi creepily hiding behind spousal trades in stocks they legislate, one of the hairiest stories crawling out of DC Swamp is WSJ’s “Govt Officials Invest in Companies Their Agencies Oversee.”

What? Now we’re told the ever-expanding & well-paid army of federal bureaucrats whose job increasingly seems to be to tell us Chumbolones how when, how and why to f**t also get to profit from investments in companies they are supposed to be PROTECTING US FROM? And, in SECRET? Says the WSJ investigation: “Hidden records show thousands of sr executive branch employees owned shares of companies whose fates were directly affected by their employers’ actions.” According to the paper, “more than 2,600 officials at agencies from the Commerce to the Treasury Departments, during both Republican & Democratic administrations, disclosed stock investments in companies while those same companies were lobbying their agencies for favorable policies” or even decisions … “That amounts to more than one in five senior federal employees across 50 federal agencies reviewed by the Journal.”

Not that those investments are all that clearly against the conflicts laws, if against its “spirit”. Nor is the “investigative report” all that shocking to this Chumbolone who worked for three Swamp infested white shoes law firms over a 17-year span & another 17 years covering them for legal news publications … this conflict of interest “problem” was always a poorly-kept dirty little secret in DC & maybe that’s one reason the WSJ finally brought the low-hanging fruit out in the open. But, the fact & ethics revealed now still stinks, no?
