Freakin’ Wray of Darkness Clouds Rights

A whistleblower recently accused a “politically motivated FBI” of treating conservatives like domestic terrorists on Director Wray’s watch. “We want the gov’t to be accountable to the freaking Bill of Rights” said Kyle Seraphin.

Well, that’s not asking too much, is it? Apparently, it may be to today’s FBI. President-elect Trump has long cited bias in the key agency’s domestic terrorism & civil rights probes and, as if to add insult to injury, it’s been led by the man No. 45 had appointed to the top post. But, Seraphin told the WSJ the FBI’s shift toward politicized agendas within its field offices dates back to the post-9/11 era when sweeping reforms & surveillance powers were granted to the agency. “What people are seeing,” Seraphin said, “is the natural outgrowth of letting FBI agents, or FBI senior management, forecast what they think the crime is going to be in the country, being incentivized to be correct, because they’re going to be paid a monetary bonus at the end of it if they’re right, and then they go out and find that crime.”

It's of course one whistle blower's accusation. But, it's disconcerting to such individuals & groups like MAGA supporters, pro-lifers, Israel admirers, immigration critics & police lovers – especially if they're being cast as well as treated as “anti-government, anti-authority, violent extremists.” Yet, per the WSj citing GAO stats, the “agency’s caseload more than doubled from about 1,000 to 2,700 investigations between spring 2020 & September 2012.” Director Wray, perhaps unwittingly, testified in September 2020 that white supremacists constitutes the largest domestic terrorism category, even though riots with the help of groups likes BLM dominated much of the domestic terrorism news then & until now.
