Gaza Peace Thru Strength or Weakness?
Some experts warn VP Harris’ support for a Palestinian state rewards terrorism. Is anyone listening? Haven’t “leaders” like Joe Biden as well as EU & NATO heads been guilty of encouraging an immediate cease fire in the Middle East … in the name of “peace”?
Remember President Reagan’s refusal to let the Soviet Union off the hook in “tearing down that wall”? The latest visit to this debate on whether peace is more likely to be achieved through such strength or through weakness, was seen in the Fox News article quoting national security experts that a Palestinian state will “’destabilize’ Jordan Israel & ‘bring only additional terror & misery.’” VP Kamala Harris had pointedly endorsed ala Biden a “two-state solution” and “immediate cease fire” viz a viz the warring Palestinians & Israelis because, she said before her debate with Trump, “they [Palestinians] so rightly deserve” their own country. Never mind that the Palestinians vow to destroy Israel regardless.
Trump’s former ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, told Fox “After the Oct. 7th massacre of over 1,000 Israeli civilians, “the two-state became a dead letter … Harris should stop parroting failed theories & trying to force a square peg into a round hole. She should empower Israel to reach a just & workable solution on its own & not interfere in matters where she is neither competent nor well-informed.” Jonathan Conricus, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies added: “The so-called two-state solution may have been possible to implement 31 years ago, but four straight Palestinian rejections of Israeli peace offers have made it clear that the current Palestinian leadership does not aspire to end the conflict & achieve peace.” So, is the ball really in Israel’s court?
