Got Rocks Not Got Stones Cool With Inflation

WSJ reports natural gas prices are surging as the cooling season switches on, yet notes “household spending rose in April” despite a spiraling inflation. Well, do most folks have any choice but pay up?

Put another way, “how far back can ordinary wage-earners as well as people on welfare cut their spending, especially on staples like gas & food? And, as for the supposedly “remarkable resiliency” of consumer spending noted by the paper, might the government’s “average household” stats be a tad skewed by the difference between unfettered spending by the wealthy “Got Rocks” among us and the more invisible pay check to pay check “Got Stones”?

Indeed, there appears to be a devil in the details. While the WSJ notes “households [on average] boosted spending in April,” they “DREW HEAVILY ON SAVINGS.” And, when the savings run out, i.e., as well as the government’s pandemic “relief” hand-outs?
