Green Electric Grid Catastrophe In B&W

Biden & alarmist MSM allies keep talking up an approaching climate catastrophe but ignore fact their policies can’t do much about or hasten that fate, e.g., the push for AI & “green energy” is driving today’s electric grid into the ground.

So, at least, says the WSJ editorial board in it’s “The Coming Electricity Crisis,” that could be avoided with a little patience & common sense. As the editors reminded, “These pages have been warning for years about an electric-power shortage. And now grid regulators & utilities are ramping up warnings. [Meanwhile] projections for US electricity demand growth over the next five years have doubled from a year ago. The major culprits [ironically]: New artificial-intelligence data centers, federally subsidized manufacturing plants & the government-driven electric-vehicle transition.”

Somewhere in all this, of course, is how our leaders & elites don’t seem to grasp the English language, e.g., the meaning of the word “artificial” in “artificial intelligence.” In other words, AI and all well-meaning climate initiatives are only as “wise” as its wise [or foolish] creators. The WSJ notes the underlying problem in our aging electrical grid “is that [thanks to those gov’t policies] utilities are rapidly retiring fossil-fuel & nuclear plants” but have no realistically adequate replacements any time soon. Conceded Federal Energy Regulatory Commish Mark Christie this month: “We are subtracting dispatchable [fossil fuel] resources at a pace that’s not sustainable & we can’t build dispatchable resources to replace the dispatchable resources we’re shutting down.” Duh. So why the hell are you doing it?
