Hamas’ & Unwra’s Crotch-Kicking Dilemma

Can crotch-kicking Hamas &/or ostrich Unwra have it both ways as Israel pushes to end former’s existence & suggests same for the latter after finding a Hamas control center right under Unwra’s headquarters in Gaza?

Of course, it’s one thing for Hamas to passionately protest what it thinks is Israeli “oppression.” Fair, if arguable, political position to take. Yet as the WSJ editors have noted, it’s patently illogical to try & justify its massacre of 1,200 innocents on Oct. 7, a true day of infamy. In Chicago, famed columnist Mike Royko coined the “crotch-kicking” phrase to describe such pols who create a crisis, then, blame the victim for retaliating. As Jesus famously suggested, the days of “An eye for an eye” are over. Yet as General Sherman pragmatically would have said, the only way to end endless wars like the one in the Middle East is to “end it.” Hence, right or wrong, Israel’s continued vow to push its offensive against Hamas until it ceases to have any territory at all, even if it means thousands more innocents lose their lives in the Machiavellian process.

As for that UN agency that’s supposed to provide humanitarian relief to the oppressed, the WSJ editorial board was quite clear about its disgust with the latest news & excuses being made about it: “For how much longer will Unrwa try the ostrich defense? The United Nations’ forever-refugee agency for Palestinians claims it had no idea Hamas was operating a key tunnel underneath the Unrwa headquarters. On Saturday, Israel exposed the tunnel, which includes one of Hamas’s most valuable assets, a data center linked to the electricity in the Unrwa building above … Since then, Israel has provided evidence that 12 Unrwa employees took part in the Oct. massacre and that 1,200 are affiliated with or are members of Hamas & Islamic Jihad.” Conclude the editors in agreeing with the Israeli take: “The day after the Gaza war will be a brighter one if Unrwa & Hamas exit the stage together.”
