Happy New Yr & Practical Politics Collide?
New Yr’s Resolution: Urge pols pundits to think smart not s***** policies. Case in pt: Va Gov Youngkin proposes sales tax hike to offset state income tax cut while WSJ wants more civil lawsuits, this time vs anti-Israel protesters ala wokesters.
Isn’t it a matter of being “helpful” or “productive” vs “unhelpful” or “unproductive”? Isn’t everyone tired yet of our “elites” feeding us impractical if not nonsensical “solutions” to problems that only make them worse?
Now, here comes the Virginia governor showing how he’s growing his reputation in his purple state as a SOLID idea man whom the WSJ praised as having a “worthy” tax reform idea. But, then, the paper’s editorial board turns around & wants the rad progressive “plaintiff’s bar” to have victims of anti-Israel protesting sue for false imprisonment, “if the DAs won’t”. Maybe they can under the law. Maybe they will. But, the real solution is to can the DAs who “won’t prosecute” via the ballot box. Or, is that asking too much of the big city chumbolones?
