Harris & Trump, Hope & Change & Kool-Aid

Harris is latest wanna-be POTUS to promise to represent “everyone.” The Kool-Aid always seems to include a “New Way Forward” with meaningless “platitudes”. Recall Biden’s “centrist” promise & lefty betrayal. Can a wanna-be-again Trump get it right?

As the WSJ editors noted, Kamala Harris’ 37-minute nomination acceptance speech “was vigorous & confident … but her lack of substance leaves an opening for Donald Trump.” If only Mr. Trump will take it. Yet again, Harris was a politician heaping “hope & change” on her adoring audience, yet she soon morphed into attacking Trump & his supporters with “a mix of truth & falsehoods.” Ok, already, for the millionth time, Trump was foolish in his effort to overturn the 2020 election, regardless of whatever. But, the baloney came next with “falsehoods that he intends to cut Medicare & Social Security & that Project 2025 is his agenda.” Then, again, Harris distorted if not outright lied about her opponent’s stated views on abortion, saying he wants to pass a national ban on “reproductive rights.” Harris, though, failed to mention it was she who wants a national law reimposing a nationwide abortion right.

Bottom line, the editors concluded: “Ms. Harris attempted to lay out a vision for her Presidency, but it was mostly empty platitudes. She will provide ‘opportunity,’ though she didn’t say how. She will solve the housing crisis, without saying how or explaining why there is a crisis on her watch. And she will reduce prices, without a repeat of her recent proposal to impose price controls.”  Then, again, Harris didn’t bother to mention much about her failed role as “Border Czar” or how she’ll deal with the threat of WWIII in overseas war zones likes Ukraine & Gaza. Mr. Trump, did you listen carefully to this predictable dodge on the issues? Can you fill in the blanks with logic but without the meaningless trash talk?
