High Time Noonan’s Dems Chewed the Fat?

Peggy Noonan’s “High Noon” column on hard-headed Dems hits the nail ok, as does suggestion Trump 2.0 is like “Godfather’s” transition from “Sunny” to “Michael” to save the tribe (USA) from sudden post-WWII “chaos” cause it’s “What [People] Want.” But …

But, who really started Noonan’s end to the international & domestic "Old Order”? First, the WSJ sear is arguably wrong in sounding so sure a governance by “chaos” via No. 47 is inevitably “the price” to pay for a needed correction. We’ll see still. Secondly, isn’t it most likely Trump’s first & second terms didn’t start & are not starting the collapse of the Old Order that gave the world & Americans “stability & peace”? Wasn’t it more likely the Obama & Biden Administration’s “Peace thru Woke Weakness” that triggered a whole series of wars as well as terrorist attacks on Western Civilization? As Noonan conceded, “most Americans understood” in the 2024 election it’s up to their new president to get us back on track from the post-Obama Drama.

Whatever. As Ms. Noonan strongly gets to the real point aka a “solution” going forward: Mr. “Bold” himself aka Trump will be Trump [and that’s why he got elected a second time] so, agreed, hunker down and accept that the ride is going to be bumpy. Change is never a Smoothie. As for the Democrats, Noonan counsels on “how to save their party … the answer isn’t to talk but do. Be supple. The Trumpian policies you honestly support – endorse them, join in the credit. If you think violent illegal immigrants should be removed, then back current efforts while standing … on the side of peaceful, hardworking families doing no harm & in fact contributing [although admittedly ILLEGALLY.] Admit what your party’s gotten wrong the past 15 years. Don’t be defensive, be humble. Most of all, make something work. You run nearly every great city in the nation. Make one work – clean it up, control crime, smash corruption, educate the kids.” Nice column, Peggy. But, as for the Democrats learning anything, Peggy, as Sonny & Michael would have opined, “Fat chance.”
