HT Croaks Patriotic Items After Woke Whine

As reported by Fox News, customers blasted the grocery chain for “recalling July 4 items, including drink sleeves that read ‘Give me liberty or give me death’ and ‘Love it or leave it,’ after other customers called for the items to be removed cause they featured guns” and eagles. Apparently, the bruhaha began after a customer took the first shot on Twitter to complain about HT selling pro-America items saying “they are insensitive to recent mass shootings in the area: “Why are you allowing this type of item to be sold at your grocery store in Huntersville NC? Clearly in light of the recent mass shootings, you can understand how this IS NOT a good idea.” HT PR replied with a thanks and promise to discontinue the “Freedom Series” that offended the Tweeter. Another customer complained directly to HT parent company Kroger about a drink sleeve reading “Arms Change, Rights Don’t” and it, too, was quickly recalled.

Then, came the counter attack as one customer Tweeted, “Go Woke, Go Broke” and another suggested she’d burn her HT VIP card for the chain being “anti-American.” Another user responded, “Ban assault coozies!” And yet another: “102 people die per day in traffic fatalities. Can you also please make sure no coozies depict cars? Thanks.” The coup de gras: “3,000 people die every year from food-borne diseases in the US. Please remove all your food items.” So far K-HT has yet to do the latter although my favorite HT outlet in Falls Church, Va seems to be having trouble keeping some shelves filled …
