“Imagine” Fish Bowl Cities & Gang Bang Greens

Not that many of today’s progressive commercials are inspiring or noted for deep thinking, but one was especially diabolically foolish to these eyes. Obviously displaying a series of images of its creators' favorite “victims” cards, it threw in a John Lennon-ish wish we imagine a world with “re-imagined cities.” It was only a second on the boob tube, but, then, the Beatle wanted to do away with religion and countries in about the same amount of time before he was murdered outside his Manhattan home across from Central Park by a victimized nut job.

The need to remake our inner cities is obvious to anyone watching the body counts every week-end in progressive strongholds like Sweet Home Chicago, New York, Baltimore, Detroit, St. Louis, LA, SF, Portland, Seattle. They’ve all become “home” to homelessness, drug addiction, gangbang terror, fed up cops & political demagogues. But, for God’s sake & ours, do not redo them as the progressives are suggesting in various “think” pieces: Open borders w/o nasty IDs; public transportation w/o cars; one big happy family high rises instead of single-family homes; free college tuition as well as basic income for all (whether they work or not) & suppression of faith-based or alternative education.

In short, they are ginning up a city called “Fish Bowl.” I have only to point to Chicago’s now torn-down Cabrini Green. It (& other projects along the lake front) was the Kennedy-era’s brilliant re-imagining of the federal housing program in which one-level “projects” would be replaced by 20+story vertical ones. Within a year, the dream became a rat & drug infested, gang dominated nightmare. THAT’s what they (re)think is the “new norm,” the new “American Dream”? Dream on.
