Irish President As Lucky Or As Dumb As Predecessors?

The remarkably prescient Donald Trump appears to have been wrong about one thing: The stock market and economy would tank if socialist Joe Biden got elected. As the recent Wall Street Journal article noted, “Stocks Are Off to Best Start to a Presidential Term Since the Great Depression.”

Now, a cynic might argue Joe may be luckier than the Fighting Irish or Bill Clinton. The former getting called a “perennial national championship candidate”, even though its football team hasn’t won the title in over 3 decades, while the “Comeback Kid” inherited a booming economy & was smart enough not to Fudge it up for 2 terms.

Enter Joe Blarney Biden. One might suspect the Irish Catholic is another Clinton in that he was lucky in inheriting a Trump economy ready to take off as the pandemic petered out thanks to the miraculous vaccines and even the most stubborn progressives couldn’t keep their lockdowns in place forever. But, Joe also hasn’t done the economy much harm so far, albeit making $6 trillion in socialist spending promises that would bankrupt King Midas. The question may be whether Bill, er, Joe is smart enough to NOT re-impose all of Obama’s business-stifling regulations ala Clinton yet lucky enough as Barack to have a Republican opposition smart enough to resist his “spending to pander” Trotsky agenda. Think hard, Joe. It’s not that hard to figure out.
