Is DGB American Version of KGB?

WSJ notes “Russia’s Independent Media Defies Kremlin Crackdown,” while it excoriates Biden’s new “Disinformation Governance Board & Sen Hawley introduces a bill to can the “unconstitutional” ploy as a foolish abuse of power.

We all know about the importance of independent thinkers and an independent press; that’s why the newspaper’s editorial board hailed the resilience of independent news in Eastern Europe & telling all sides weighing in on the “truth” in the face of the raging war in Ukraine. And, that’s why another op ed titled, “Shut Up, the Disinformation Governance Board Explained,” argues “the only way to overcome lies is with truth, and the government [Russian OR American] can’t be the arbiter of what that is.”

Someone please tell our home grown Big Government addicts as did the editors: “It’s always exciting for progressives when they create a new govt office of something or other. They live for this: another excuse to spend piles of taxpayer dollars; another polysyllabic title and flashy logo, comforting arm of the bureaucracy into the business of ordinary citizens who never knew how impoverished their lives were without it.” As one pundit noted, isn’t it deflating to think “DGB” evokes thoughts of “KGB”?
