Is Green Pork Voters’ Green Ham I Am?

WSJ’s Holman Jenkins asks “Why Pretend Green Pork Will Stop Climate Change?” Is it because “organized groups & politicians want the money & the public wants to be a sucker”? Is the devil is in Dr. Holman’s results?

Argues the columnist: “Lies told by government provoke little concern from the public until voters encounter a consequence – That mask or vaccine DID NOT prevent you from being infected by Covid. You CANNOT keep your doctor. The half-trillion dollars you were asked to spend on climate change DID NOT stop climate change.”

Holman continues: “Take the Joe Manchin-sponsored climate compromise coming together in the US Senate.” PLEASE (ed.). “Despite panegyrics in the press, this euphoric proposal amounts to exactly the sort of subsidy regime the National Academy of Science in 2013, after a similar splurge, judged to be a ‘poor tool for reducing greenhouse gases & achieving climate-change objectives’ … The most widely celebrated paper in recent years on the economics of climate change concludes that green-energy subsidies mostly just increase total energy consumption rather than displace fossil fuels.” And, according to Princeton’s Alvarez & Ross-Hansberg, “The impact of CO2 & temperatures is ‘miniscule’.” YET, voters DO LIKE DR. SEUSS GREEN HAM TALES EVEN IF NOT SUSTAINABLE IN THE REAL WORLD…
