Is Harris’ Transfiguration Exaggerated?

Kamala’s hubby may be right in mocking Trump for bringing up his once getting a nanny pregnant with “Is that all you got?” Problem is, WSJ’s Gerard Baker details MUCH more aka yo wife has been more radical on the issues than Bernie Sanders & Pocahontas.

In his “The Reinvention of Kamala Harris,” Gerard reminds the Democratic Party & a “complicit” MSM may very well be able to pull off what was recently thought of as a miracle, that is, the “transfiguration” of the VP. As the columnist puts it, Harris is suddenly being portrayed as something very different “from the verbally maladroit, politically inept, ruinous-policy-espousing electoral dud we have all seen over the past 5 years.” Instead, we’re being re-educated by Harris’ supporters into “the holy trinity of Joan of Arc, Harriet Tubman & Margaret Thatcher.”

Curiously, Baker recalls, most Democrats themselves FEARED Harris replacing a fading President Biden and “We are familiar with why that was: memories of Ms. Harris’s political identity as the most liberal member of a Senate that included Bernie Sanders & Elizabeth Warren; a presidential campaign 5 years ago in which she pledged to eliminate private health insurance, ban fracking, give benefits to illegal immigrants & force gun owners to sell certain firearms to the government; more recent recollections of her SF-bred extremism such as when she helped raise money for the legal defense of rioters & looters in the summer of 2020; and her role in helping Mr. Biden deliver a long list of economic, social & national-security failures for the country – most obviously at the border.” So, Mr. Emhoff, to answer your Q, indeed, Mr. Trump will have MUCH more to show the voters between now & November 6. The only other Q, Baker concedes, is whether No. 45 has the discipline to stick to the issues & stop trash talking about his opponent’s weird husband figuratively carrying a big stick with his stick.
