Is Pea-Brained Putin Setting Table For Smarter Biden?

Trump says Putin is “smarter” than Biden, while WSJ pundit Holman Jenkins suggests in “Putin the Not So Great” the Russian conqueror is a glorified idiot; if so, what does that make Biden? The beneficiary of “Russia’s evil & pratfall-prone leader … soon looking for an out” of his (latest) Ukraine blunder?

Explains Mr. Holman: “Not to be sacrilegious, but Mr. Putin, like FDR, long benefited from the uncannily resilient public support that accrues to a leader seen as having saved a society from descending into chaos. His epitaph how will be ‘he saved a nation so he could wreck it.’” Since taking over the remains of the USSR, in fact, Putin has arguably run his country into the ground while enriching himself & a handful of oligarchs. His economy stinks. His KGB spooks can’t assassinate a critic in London without the Brits knowing it. His army has trouble refueling itself outside Kyiv but good at levelling buildings that can’t fight back. And, yet, Hillary Clinton, Mr. Biden & the MSM veritably shudder at Putin’s supposed “genius” in affecting the 2016 US presidential election. Counters Holman: “This may be surprising to Americans who … [have] … been fed an exaggerated notion of Putin adroitness … [but] … a painstaking Harvard study, which few in media consulted, argues convincingly Russia’s main success in it US election meddling was getting the US media to exaggerate Russia’s election meddling.”

In short, a “pea-brained” Mr. Putin got himself into this mess & really has no exit strategy. And, when the “pea-brain’s 19th-century despotism fails” in the end, watch for Mr. Biden to claim victory in having suckered the pea-brain. That’s what pea-brain’s idiocy makes Biden. Smarter than a pea.
