ISIS & Bourbon Street Killer’s Crotch Kick
New Orleans terrorist’s shocking oath of allegiance to ISIS came in the lead up to & during the murdering of 14 Americans with a pickup truck. He was an army vet with a lucrative consulting job. If this ain’t a wakeup call to our “Trojan Horse” danger, nothing is.
As Fox News told the story: “On the 350-mile drive from Houston to the Big Easy, [42-yr-old Shamsud-Din] Jabbar recorded selfie video declaring his allegiance to ISIS & saying he initially planned to kill his own friends & family but decided on attacking innocent members of the public [40 more were injured] in order to attract more attention to what he called a “war between the believers and the disbelievers.” The FBI says Jabbar’s radicalization metastasized in just weeks before he would go on to drive through a crowed of New Year’s revelers on Bourbon Street while flying the ISIS flag from his truck’s hitch.
Pols, shrinks & pundits will debate how this could have happened to this American and his victims. Jay Carafano, a national security expert, told Fox that “Biden’s humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan reignited the [warped] hope that America really was the paper tiger that Usama Bin Laden claimed we were.” It may indeed be a resurgence of such a delusion. Yet, the bottom line, Carafano opined, is that “ISIS and others are back.” Meaning, terrorists have rediscovered the ability of and benefits in using home-grown malcontents against us. Historians may call it a kind of coward’s “Trojan Horse” strategy. In my ex-Sweet Home Chicago, famed journalist Mike Royko would have called it the “All American Crotch Kick.” Whatever. It’s back.
